Cherokee County, GA - Cherokee County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) Deputy Zachary "Zach" Christian Barksdale died on Nov. 20 due to complications of a diabetic seizure, according to his family. Federal prosecutors also alleged at the time that Barksdale was a high-ranking member of the Black Guerrilla Family. In 2008, there was a parade that was sponsored and supported by the Black Disciples organization, in a controversial move, registered by the Chicago City Council for the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. But he was ensnared in a Drug Enforcement Administration wiretap investigation in 2014, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison. A multi-child couple, Virginia and Charley, gave birth to thirteen offspring, so it was difficult to provide material well-being for all of them.
